Rebecca Minkoff s/s 2013

I almost feel as if I've been transported into Isabel Marant's past.... a more juvenile, playful version of her perfect vision, which is more than ok by me. Gorgeous silhouettes, colorful prints - spring at its best.
Next: my favorites from the best of the best.

Milestones.

I'm turning 25 in less than 4 months. What!?
I honestly can't stop thinking about how crazy this is. I can't be 25 yet... it just sounds much too grown up.
So to force myself to embrace this impending age, I've decided that I'll be buying my first actual designer bag. Not just contemporary up-and-coming designers, but fully established, iconic fashion houses.
So here's my list to narrow down as of now.

 Chloe Marcie shoulder bag

3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Messenger

And of course the ever classic Proenza Schouler PS1 medium. Though clearly the color options are far too extensive.

And lastly, the Alexander Wang Diego in black with rose gold.
But this one I might have to cheat and buy ahead of time in fear of it selling out..

Looks like I'm going to have to start spending wisely, but this motivation should be more than sufficient. It's part of being an adult, after all :)

simple direction

Sometimes we just need to be reminded of the simple things in life. I just booked my ticket to fly home for Thanksgiving and I couldn't be more excited to spend the week with my family in the crazy city I call home, Los Angeles. It's been over a year since I've been back, which honestly is far too long. I've started a note on my phone where I've began listing all the things I'm excited about.. partly so I don't forget to do something, partly to motivate me through the next month and a half. I'll share the list later on as I'm still in the stage where I add to it every day.
Too many things, too little time.
But don't forget to do what you love.

Prabal Gurung s/s 2013

Seeing as how I'll probably never tire of feathers or feather-inspired anything... I'm loving Prabal Gurung this season. Again, the long torsos come out to play -- drop waist dresses with feathers, feather prints, ethereal fabrics... all in a simple red, white, black color scheme.

Mara Hoffman s/s 2013

Always a favorite of mine, Mara Hoffman never disappoints. The strategic cutouts and wrapping, colorful prints and general tropical feel makes me resent the cooler nights that have been more frequent as of late.
And the orange lips take me back to my last real summer before I became a working girl- a summer filled with family, friends and exciting world travels. Pretty much the trifecta of perfection.

Pierre Balmain s/s 2013

Pretty sure I'm not too excited to still find peplum on the runway... but on the other hand, I'm loving these bubble shorts. Finally something that uses this concept in a much more intriguing manner!
Peplum shorts anyone?
Love it.

Edun s/s 2013

Loving this impressive collection of wearable, interesting pieces. The lengthened torsos take the focal point away from the waist, creating a more modern looking silhouette; and the color palette is to-die-for. Army green, white, orange and navy will likely dominate my closet this season.
Hands down favorite show thus far... seeing as how Isabel Marant has yet to present, of course.
