the level of creativity, skill and sheer talent that goes into making haute couture is simply beautiful. Knowing that this sort of dedication to the art of constructing clothing persists even in this age of mass production is inspiring beyond words.

Australia.
I'm constantly on the hunt for unique, innovative blogs to follow and tend to spend far too much time searching for these new sources of inspiration. Recently, a pretty large majority of the blogs and tumblrs that I've bookmarked have hailed from the sunny beaches of Australia. These blogs, coupled with my love of Australian brands, is steadily blossoming into some form of obsession. Is this what happens when travel gets put on the back burner for too long?

Alexandra Valenti for Cheyanne Benedict
C&C California was always a favorite of mine, but at some point I outgrew the casual fabrics and prints and moved on to names like Splendid and James Perse.
So naturally, I couldn't be more excited to discover that half of the C&C duo has created her own line that is filled with simple cuts and flowy silhouettes.
C&C has grown up.
Couple that with my photographer obsession of the moment and magic happens.

2013.
I just know this coming year is going to be unforgettable.
2012 was amazing in its own way, but at the same time, largely uneventful. I have high hopes for 2013 and I'm going to make sure all of my 6 resolutions are met, starting with consistency on this blog! (Read: no more month-long absences.)
This is also the year I turn a quarter-of-a-century old. Scary.
Today I'm missing an integral part of my family holiday traditions: the Rose Parade. I've resolved to make it home for the holidays next year; so assuming that all goes well, I'll be strangely content to be chilled to the bone on Colorado Avenue in Pasadena in 365 days.
